Simon McGovern has competed as a fighter in the realm of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Submission-Wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. With 10 Amateur and 4 Pro MMA fights under his belt, as well as a wealth of Grappling matches. Simon's knowledge goes beyong the school floor. The main objective of competition for Simon is to pressure test the arts he studies against other trained opponents, and also for the thrill of the sport. There is no greater rush for Simon than stepping into a cage, ring or mats ready to face his opponent, except that is, the thrill of having his arm lifted in victory. As well as fighting himself, Simon McGovern also acts as head coach and trainer of the fight team at the McGovern Academy as as well as a member of GB Lagarto Team in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.
